here.

here. is exactly what its name promises — good food made right where you're sitting, on Route 414 along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail in Hector. Owners Jen and Stan spent 25 years running the beloved Just A Taste in Ithaca before finding a new home here, bringing the same scratch-cooking philosophy to a smaller, more relaxed setting.

The menu changes weekly — sample menus are posted as they go, with everything from breakfast sandwiches and biscuits and gravy to focaccia-built sandwiches, sampler platters, and house-made baked goods, sauces, jellies, and condiments. Outside of the regular schedule, Jen and Stan also do pop-ups and charity events under their original Just A Taste name.

It's an easy place to miss if you're cruising Route 414 between the east shore wineries — small sign, big flavor. Order at the counter, find a seat inside or out, and a friendly local dog might come by to check that everything's up to par.

Our Story

here. is the kind of place you almost drive past, and then think about for the rest of your trip. Jen and Stan bring 25 years of Just A Taste experience to a tiny spot on Route 414, and it shows in every detail — the focaccia is genuinely some of the best bread you'll find anywhere on the lake, and the sausage gravy has earned a cult following.

It's unpretentious in the best way: order at the counter, grab a seat, and let the food do the talking. The crew is famously warm, the portions are generous, and the seasonal smoker specials (trout, baloney, hot link sausage) keep regulars coming back to see what's new each week.
