About
Lucky Hare Brewing Company
Tucked along the hillside of Seneca Lake in Hector, NY, Lucky Hare Brewing Company is one of the Finger Lakes' most beloved craft taprooms. Perched less than 15 minutes north of Watkins Glen, this family- and dog-friendly destination draws locals and visitors alike with its relaxed atmosphere, sweeping lake views, and a rotating lineup of expertly crafted beers.
The Hector taproom pours 10 of Lucky Hare's own beers on any given day, alongside house-made cocktails, local Finger Lakes wines, cider, and non-alcoholic options — something for everyone in your crew. The back deck is the place to be in summer: open air, green lawn rolling toward the lake, and the kind of golden-hour sunsets you'll be talking about long after you leave.
Hungry? Babe's Burgers operates right inside the taproom with a dedicated food window on the back deck. Their menu goes well beyond burgers — with gluten-free and vegetarian options — and you can order ahead online. Lucky Hare has also become a hub for community events, from the annual Finger Lakes National Forest Cleanup to the beloved South East Seneca Cook-Off.
In Our Words
Our Story
There's a reason Lucky Hare shows up on nearly every "must-visit" list in the area — and it has everything to do with owners Ian and Denise. These two pour their heart and soul into every pint, and you feel it the moment you walk through the door. The beer is world-class, genuinely, but the atmosphere never takes itself too seriously. It's relaxed, it's fun, and that sprawling yard out back might be one of the finest places to spend a summer afternoon in all of the Finger Lakes.
If you haven't tried the Milk Stout yet, that's where you start. It's an all-time favorite for good reason — smooth, rich, and completely approachable even if stouts aren't usually your thing. Lucky Hare is the kind of place that earns regulars fast, and keeps them for life.
