Hector Hideaway earns its name — it's tucked far enough off the main road that you feel like you've found something. And then you get to the deck and see the view: vineyard rows in the foreground, Seneca Lake stretching out below, the west shore ridge catching the last of the light. It's one of the best dining views on the east shore, full stop.
The commitment to keeping everything on the bar from within New York State is something you notice immediately and appreciate more with every pour. The Hideaway Burger with house jam is the thing to order first. And if you're there on a Sunday, the brunch menu and cocktails are genuinely excellent — don't skip the key lime bars on the way out.
