Vineyard Villas

Vineyard Villas is a boutique villa retreat in Burdett, NY, set on seven acres in the heart of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. Eight private A-frame villas sit along the ridge above the lake, each with its own deck, balcony, full kitchen, gas grill, and campfire pit. Two additional suites in The Residence sit just down the hill, within easy walking distance.

What sets the property apart is the land itself. Two and a half acres of original Concord grapes still grow here, planted generations ago to supply the jelly and juice makers of the day. Guests are welcome to walk the rows and pick their own during harvest. There's a half-acre pond, picnic areas, and the Finger Lakes National Forest is close enough to reach on foot.

The location is genuinely hard to beat. You're looking straight out at Chateau Lafayette Reneau's vineyards and Seneca Lake below, with JR Dill, Hazlitt, Red Newt, and Two Goats all a short drive up or down Route 414. And you don't even have to leave the property for dinner — Hector Hideaway is right here on site.

Our Story

Vineyard Villas has been quietly doing its own thing on the Burdett hillside for years, and it works because it never tried to be a resort. Eight A-frames on a working vineyard, each one private, each one with a fire pit and a balcony pointed at the water. That's the whole idea.

The Concord vines out front are the oldest thing on the property. They went in generations ago to feed the jelly and juice trade, and they're still producing. Guests walk the rows in September and pick their own. Add a half-acre pond, the National Forest at the edge of the field, and a restaurant you can get to without moving your car, and you've got one of the more complete stays on the east side.

Tips for Guests

  • Book well ahead for fall harvest, Watkins Glen race weekends, and Wine Trail event weekends — those dates fill first.
  • Traveling with a dog? Only Villas A, B, and C are pet friendly, and the pet fee has to be added at booking, not on arrival.
  • Buy firewood on site. New York regulations do not allow you to bring firewood in from out of state.
  • Come in September and walk the Concord rows. The harvest experience is complimentary for guests in season.
  • It's a rural property, so WiFi can wander. Download your maps and playlists before you get here.
  • Check Hector Hideaway's hours before you plan dinner — they shift with the season.
