Stay at Osmote

Osmote is a family-run winery on the east side of Seneca Lake, making low-impact, naturally fermented wines that are light on their feet and built around freshness, texture, and restraint. The tasting room is centered on an architecturally striking timber-framed pavilion and slate patio that opens onto panoramic lake, farm, and vineyard views — and remarkably, you can book a stay right here on the estate.

There are three ways to stay: Windows to Seneca, a private guest suite in the farmhouse with its own deck; and two brand-new modern tiny houses, The Serene and The Winery Nook, tucked into the green space beside the vineyard. All three are a short walk from the tasting pavilion, so you can sip a glass at sunset and stroll home. It's about as close to the wine as you can sleep.

Three Ways to Stay

From a cozy farmhouse suite to modern tiny-house living — all on the farm, all steps from the tasting room.

The deck — yours alone — looks out over Seneca Lake, Watkins Glen, and the working vineyard. Inside: a queen Casper bed, blackout curtains, a breakfast/work corner, wine glasses for whatever you picked up down the road, a Roku TV, coffee maker, and mini-fridge. Minutes from the wine trail, Watkins Glen State Park, and the Finger Lakes National Forest — and a short walk to the Osmote tasting room and neighboring Hillick & Hobbs.

Balance You Can Feel

Osmote makes low-impact wines in the Finger Lakes — naturally fermented, light on their feet, built around freshness, texture, and restraint. The estate is family-run and lake-shaped: cool summers, softer extremes, longer hang time. That slow, steady moderation is the point — wines that find balance and complexity naturally instead of being forced into it.

Producing under 24,000 bottles a year from classic varieties and modern disease-resistant hybrids, Osmote is poured at Michelin-starred restaurants — but these are wines for a white tablecloth or a picnic blanket alike. Stay on the farm, walk to the pavilion, and taste where it's made.

Tips for Guests

  • Book any of the three stays from osmotewine.com/stay, which links straight to each Airbnb listing — and build in time for a tasting at the pavilion.
  • The two tiny houses include a complimentary tasting for two at Osmote — a great reason to walk over on your first afternoon.
  • You can walk to neighboring Hillick & Hobbs as well as Osmote, so you've got two tasting rooms within a stroll of your door.
  • Each stay sleeps two, so these are couples'/solo retreats. The tiny houses aren't suited for young children.
  • Watkins Glen State Park is about six minutes away, with the Finger Lakes National Forest and dozens of wineries close by.
  • It's a working farm: you'll see (and can visit) the pasture-raised pigs, but don't feed them or cross the electric fencing. Daytime farm equipment wraps up by late afternoon.
