Silver Thread Winegarden

Silver Thread Vineyard has been one of the Finger Lakes' most quietly celebrated wineries since 1982 — a pioneer in dry wine production and organic farming on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake. In early 2025, the winery opened its new primary tasting location right on Route 414: the Silver Thread Winegarden, housed in the former Dano's Heuriger restaurant space at 9564 NY-414 in Lodi.

The Winegarden brings Silver Thread to a wider audience without sacrificing what makes it special. Tastings are paired with a locally sourced small plates menu — cheese boards, salads, sausages, and European-style spreads inspired by the space's Dano's heritage. The outdoor tent seating area offers shaded Seneca Lake views, and the welcoming, educational atmosphere reflects the Brocks' deep commitment to wine knowledge and hospitality.

Winemaker and co-owner Paul Brock is an assistant professor of Viticulture and Wine Technology at Finger Lakes Community College and a leading voice in biointensive farming in the region. Co-owner Shannon Brock is a certified wine educator and WSET Diploma holder. Together they craft small-batch, terroir-driven wines that are among the most respected in the Finger Lakes — and now more accessible than ever.

Our Story

Silver Thread is one of those wineries you remember long after the visit — not because of flash or fanfare, but because the wines are genuinely outstanding and the people behind them clearly care. Paul and Shannon Brock have spent over a decade pushing the boundaries of what Seneca Lake fruit can do, and the Winegarden makes their work easier to experience than ever.

The move to Route 414 was the right call. The space is beautiful, the food menu actually complements the wines, and the whole experience has the warmth of a winery that's never forgotten its roots — just found a better front door. If you're serious about Finger Lakes wine, this is a must stop.
