About
Overlook Coffee Company
Tucked into a beautifully restored historic building on Main Street in the village of Burdett, Overlook Coffee Company is one of the most charming and genuinely excellent coffee stops in the Finger Lakes. Founded by Christina Gandy and Brandon Evans — a husband-and-wife team who put down roots here after splitting time between Seneca Lake and San Antonio — it's a place that feels personal because it is.
Brandon, an aerospace engineer who designs aircraft engines remotely for Pratt and Whitney, dove headfirst into coffee — sourcing single-origin beans from growers around the world, mastering small-batch roasting on-site, and building out a menu that spans Nitro Cold Brew to perfectly pulled cappuccinos. Christina brings warmth and pastry expertise, having worked at the Bird Bakery in San Antonio after studying biology and neuroscience at Syracuse University. Together they've created something the village of Burdett didn't know it needed — and now can't imagine being without.
Out back, a peaceful waterfall provides the soundtrack for the outdoor patio. Local farm milk goes into every drink. Vegan baked goods share the case with classic scones and cookies. And bags of their own freshly roasted beans are always available to take home.
In Our Words
Our Story
Overlook is the kind of coffee shop that makes you want to slow down. The latte art is genuinely impressive, the beans are roasted right there on-site, and that waterfall patio out back is one of the most unexpectedly perfect spots in the whole region. It's a small place that does everything right — and it's run by two people who clearly love what they're doing.
If you're doing a wine trail day or heading up to Watkins Glen, make Overlook your morning stop. Grab a Nitro Cold Brew or a cappuccino, sit by the waterfall for a few minutes, and pick up a bag of beans to take home. You won't regret it — and you'll be back the next time you're in the area.

Meet the Owners
Christina & Brandon
Christina Gandy and Brandon Evans met while studying at Syracuse University — Christina in biology and neuroscience, Brandon in engineering. After years of splitting time between Seneca Lake summers and Christina's hometown in San Antonio (where she worked at the beloved Bird Bakery), the couple decided to put down roots in Burdett.
When Brandon's sister and her husband began restoring a historic building on Main Street, the idea of a coffee shop took root. Brandon taught himself everything about sourcing, roasting, and brewing — and brought the same precision he applies to designing aircraft engines at Pratt and Whitney to perfecting every cup. The result is Overlook Coffee Company — a true labor of love that's become the heart of the village.
