J.R. Dill is the kind of winery that earns repeat visits for all the right reasons — the staff is genuinely warm, the wines are thoughtfully made from 100% Seneca Lake grapes, and the vibe is exactly right. Not too precious, not too casual. The rosé and sparkling are consistently excellent. The lake glass bar alone is worth the stop.
The covered deck is one of the best spots on Route 414 for a mid-afternoon pause — Seneca Lake stretching out in front of you, something cold in hand, a snack menu that actually satisfies. And the Bubbles and Breakfast event on select summer Sundays has become one of the most talked-about mornings on the east shore. J.R. Dill gets it right.
